Motion Controllers
For your own CNC and machine automation projects, MicroKinetics manufactures a variety of motion controllers. Depending on your interface requirements, you may choose a USB interface or a PC card. Here are the selections available and the features:
The Motionet MN100 is a low cost, single axis, networkable controller that is PC independent. Use the MN100 where true coordinated motion between axes is not required. Works with most operating systems.
The Motionet MN400 is a high performance, 4 axis, coordinated motion controller suitable for microstepping applications. Works with most operating systems.
The OptiStep Plus is ideal for medium speed, industrial grade applications where a legacy ISA slot is available and it requires Windows 98SE or MSDOS.
The QuickPhase is an all-in-one controller with built in power drivers. It is ideal for small tabletop-size applications where high voltage transients from plasma machines or electrically noisy AC motors are not present. This requires an ISA slot and Windows 98SE or MSDOS.
The OptiTracker is not a control product but rather an incremental encoder interface. It accepts quadrature or pulse and direction signals and maintains a counter position for each encoder input. Available in 1-4 axes, the OptiTracker is an ISA card that can be used to provide a digital readout for a variety of mechanical designs including XY positioning stages, CMM (coordinate Measurement Machines), closed loop CNC feedback, DRO (Digital readout) etc...

Motionet MN400E - Cabinet Style Controller With Operator Interface

The MN400E is the enclosed version of the MN400 controller. It provides a control panel with switches and indicators and supplies power to the board. Many commands can be performed manually! Ideal for the desktop and benchtop machines as well as an engineering evaluation system. Can be used as an upgrade for older Driverack and Mightydrive systems to support USB and/or the latest windows operating systems. |

Motionet MN100 - Single Axis Networked Controller
The MN100 is a single axis stepper motor controller. It communicates with a master controller or a PC via RS485 serial port. The MN100 controller can be used with the DM8010, DR8010, DM4050, and UnoDrive or with any third party driver that accepts industry standard step and direction commands.

OptiStep Plus-ISA Bus Motion Controller
The OptiStep Plus is a high performance, low cost 4-axis motion control card for IBM AT compatible computers. Optically isolated control lines provide step and direction output signals, high and low limit switch inputs, current reduction outputs, and a feed hold input. Software options include MillMaster Pro, TurnMaster Pro, SuperScribe, and the Instep Motion control library.

QuickPhase-ISA Bus Controller With Built-in Drivers
The QuickPhase
is a complete stepper motor indexer and driver for up
to 3 axes. Its space saving design features on-board 1 amp bipolar constant
current drivers. The QuickPhase plugs directly into any IBM PC/XT/AT
compatible computer and can be used with a small external 12 vdc power
supply or plugs directly into the computer's power supply. It is ideal
for CAD/CAM modeling, robotic, and laboratory applications.

OptiTracker - ISA Bus Incremental Encoder Interface
The OptiTracker
is a high speed 1, 2, 3, or 4 axis
quadrature encoder interface designed for IBM PC/XT/AT or compatible
computers. Maximum operating frequency is 1.3 MHZ in either quadrature
or step and direction mode. Maximum count range is +/- 8,388,607. Includes
a free DRO program with source code. Optional Windows DLL and Visual
Basic DRO programs are available. The OptiTracker
can be used with MillMaster
Pro for encoder feedback.
